This week I have been commuting down to Sydney for the 20th annual Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. This was my second year volunteering with the event company, Mirodoor, and this year proved to be so much better than the last.
I was lucky enough to see 4 different shows throughout the week, as well as help dress the models back of house at a 5th show.
Each collection I watched was amazing. Think 70s style flairs, flats, whites, blues, maroons, high neck ties, over sized shirts, and blazers.
Celebrity spotting became my favourite activity of the week, where I managed to spot some of my favourite bloggers including Margaret Zhang from Shine By Three (and the TV show fashionbloggers) and Nicole Warne from Gary Pepper Girl. And of course Australian actors and singers where never far from view, including Jessica Malboy who I stood opposite the runway from on the opening night.
Despite the early mornings and the long drives, the entire week was totally worth it. Studying communications, I was able to see some of the top fashion journalists and PR practitioners at work and in their element.
Here are a few (*a lot of*) photos I took throughout the week>>>
>Opening night – Ellery by Kim Ellery.

>Day 1 – Tome by Ramon Martin.
> Day 1 – setting the runway for Watson X Watson by Somer and Liberty Watson.
(If you look carefully at the runway you can see that the set up involved a whole lot of foil!)
>Day 3 – Jennifer Kate by Jennifer Kate.
And I may have got a little carried away with the confetti…
>Day 4 – New Generation including Mariam Sedding, POL Clothing, Vanessa Moe, Casper + Pearl, House of Canon, and Misha Collection.
(Back of House)
>Day 4 – Dyspnea by Jameen Zalfen and Rachel Motteram.
Xxx.
