Travelling Europe for the first time?
There are so many places to see and so many different ways of doing it, it is hard to know what the best option is.
After tossing up whether or not to do a Contiki tour I decided to go with Busabout and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking to travel Europe for the first time, without feeling too confined on a set tour.
For some people the Contiki tours might be too structured, but at the same time feel a bit daunted at the thought of travelling completely unguided. Busabout, for me, was the perfect mix of both. I felt safe the entire time and knew I didn’t have to worry about travelling from one country to the other. At the same time I had the freedom to explore each city on my own and create my own individual adventure.
I was lucky enough to have about 4 months to travel through Europe, so I had the luxury of taking my time. There a loads of different travelling routes to take with Busabout, so I opted for all of them ;)
Busabout is a great form of transport to carry you around your chosen Europe destinations. With an experienced guide on each bus it is a great way to get to know a bit about the history of the city you are arriving at as well as tips on where to go and what to see.
The bus will also drop you right out the front of a hostel. It is not required that you stay there, but it saves you the hassle of finding a place yourself, plus it’s a great way to get to know other people on your bus.
The buses come quite frequently, every two or three days depending on the city, so you can choose to stay at a place for as long or as little as you like. Although they offer great tours and activities at each place you can also choose to do your own thing. However, an organised tour is great to do every now and then. You get to meet new people and establish your bearings before you venture out on your own.
